POB Nerds-R-Us

All of Your POB Computer Needs

FAQ

1- Remote service, what does that mean?

A- Remote service is something new I have wanted to try out, but never had the chance to since I only had one computer, all it is, is a service by which I can access your computer through my computer, and install and upgrade things as needed, but I will first need your permission before I can even touch the computer.

2- Who buys the parts if I want to make a custom computer?

A- You do, I will only recommend the parts you should buy under your budget. I cant save my money to buy my own parts and buy yours at the same time, sorry but its true.

3- Why should I trust you, of all people

A- As I said, I come from a very technological background (About me page), I have worked on my old 1998 system (motherboard fried in an intentional power surge) alot over the last couple of months, removing and installing parts to get the hang of board and part handling, I'm pretty sure I have mastered the art of computer building and software installation.

4- Vista or no vista?

A- Ah, the burning question...I would recommend not changing to Vista until Service Pack 2, but since SP1 is out now, I might make an exception due to the fact that Microsoft has fixed alot of bugs. But overall, I would say get Linux, its free, fun, and secure. I am currently running Ubuntu on 2 of my 3 computers, the 3rd one being the oldest, which cant handle it
